Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!

Honestly, I am glad the Holidays are almost over. I had to go to malls one time too many and after awhile the dancing, gyrating, toy santas really gets annoying. The real ones even more so. Not to mention the ever present holiday music where every single artist has a different rendition of Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman and not always a good rendition, either. Next year I will avoid all trips to the mall by buying all my gifts online and two months in advance. Really. I made that pledge last Christmas and look what happened. Christmas snuck up on me and tripped me up. Christmas is sneaky like that. Right now my grandma is cooking and baking the Christmas dinner. The delicious smells are wafting through the house, filling every room with a smell of pumpkin pie. And through it all stands my grandma who tells, "Jane, cooking Christmas dinner is a pain in the ass." and I totally agree, though I have never cooked a chicken, much less a turkey. Next year we're going to eat out for Christmas dinner. Even though I think the holiday season is way too commerical and materialistic, I still wish everyone (and that includes you too) a joyous celebration and much stuffing yourself with turkey and ham.

Happy Holidays from panajane, where the weather is fucking hot and the sun is too bright.
