A Garden of Her Own

Remember those sunflower sprouts? This is what they grew into during the last months of summer:

Patch of sunflowers to greet you when you come home!

Follow the sun where it may go.

This one was a late bloomer, but quickly became my all time favorite. What a beauty!

Sunflowers are super easy to grow, and they did rather well in clay-sandy soil. The ones that were potted in dark, earthy soil did get a tiny bit bigger than the ones planted directly in the ground. I will definitely be planting them again next summer. They do not like a lot of rain, so plant during the summer months and do not over water.

Overall easy planting rating: 4.5
