It's not you, it's me

I've got a problem,
can't you see?
I'm not as happy
As I seem.
I laugh and smile,
but the hair is in my face
and it's hiding agony,
it's just my problem,
can't you see?

He walked away
and broke my heart,
cleaved cleanly
straight through the seam;
Things aren't as happy
as they seem.
It's just a problem,
can't you see?

I look at you,
I see myself;
you smile wanly
while the world eats up
your spark.
You aren't as happy
as you seem;
it's just a problem,
can't you see?
