We did ALL of the painting in the cabin ourselves; took us about four full days to complete. The entire cabin was painted an awful creamy white that sucked out much of the charm of the place. We decided to tackle the bathroom first and go from there.
BEFORE
I taped up all the corners to make painting easier and less messy (being detail oriented really helps when doing your own painting).
The color we decided to go with is called Lima Bean Green by Glidden.
The bathroom sucked up not one, not two, but THREE coats of paint; one entire gallon, and took two days to finish.
First coat of paint, not enough for the thirsty, thirsty bathroom walls.
Second coat of paint: looking better, but not quite right.
AFTER
I am absolutely SMITTEN with the end result. A little bit of color brought about a huge change in this bathroom.
The color is really brought out beautifully by the skylight.
Love, love LOVE it.
The green varies throughout the day, depending on the sunlight or lack thereof.
The best thing about a new bathroom? Slowly stocking it up with yummy shower gels, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc. to make a truly luxurious mini-spa. It is not yet completed, as there are still things missing, but it is well on its way to being just right.
